Report: Tottenham confident of agreeing Sessegnon deal
According to the , Tottenham Hotspur are working on a deal for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
Sessegnon is certainly a huge prospect, something which Fulham are wholly aware of. The Cottagers, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, wanted £40 million for the 19-year-old at the start of the summer. However, because the England under-21 international only has one year to run on his current contract at Craven Cottage, Spurs are confident of securing his services for a cut price fee of £25 million.

Spurs left-back Danny Rose appears to be nearing an exit from White Hart Lane this summer. As reported by the , the 29-year-old has sat out the club’s pre-season tour in order to sort out his future.
Mauricio Pochettino may consider Sessegnon to be an ideal replacement for the outbound defender. Sessegnon certainly has plenty of potential, and could one day become a superior player to Rose.
However, Pochettino should be wary of burdening Sessegnon with too much expectation and pressure too soon. The youngster only played his first top flight campaign last time out and he struggled to make an impact. Whilst he was hampered by broader issues at Fulham, it is clear that Sessegnon is not the finished article yet.
