Report: Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho makes contact with Marouane Fellaini
that Jose Mourinho has made contact with Marouane Fellaini over a potential return to the Premier League in January with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Fellaini, 32, played under Mourinho at Manchester United and was used regularly by the Portuguese manager. Fellaini left Old Trafford just weeks after Mourinho was dismissed in December 2018, moving to the Chinese Super League.
The 87-time international – who can play as a striker or in midfield – has impressed with Shandong Luneng, scoring 12 goals in 34 games as well as laying on five assists for the ever-improving Chinese Super League.
Fellaini helped his side finish in fifth in the 2019 campaign, but could not prevent his side losing to Shanghai Shenhua in the two-legged Cup final. Hours later, Fellaini received a call from Tottenham boss Mourinho over a potential return.
The report claims Spurs have made Fellaini their ‘first priority’ in January, given they have little back-up to Harry Kane.

TBR’s view – Could Fellaini be an effective signing for Tottenham?
Many criticised the Belgian during his time at Manchester United but the former Everton man always cropped up with an important goal or assist – given that he can turn a long ball into the penalty area into something dangerous.
Spurs do not have a player like Fellaini and it gives Mourinho a plan B from the bench, if Kane is struggling to open up an opposition defence. It also gives Spurs the option of swinging the ball into the box. He would be a top signing for Spurs.
One stumbling block; he is earning £350,000 a week.
