Report: Tottenham battling Dortmund and Zidane for £35.5m-rated Bundesliga midfielder
that Tottenham Hotspur are battling Europe’s elite clubs to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus – but a move is expected to occur in the summer window, rather than January.
Neuhaus, 23, is just four appearances shy of reaching a century with Gladbach – becoming one of the first names of their team sheet of late. He has also broken into the Germany side under Joachim Low ahead of Euro 2021, earning three caps.
He is enjoying an excellent season. In his 25 games – which include six Champions League appearances – Neuhaus has had a hand in 11 goals from the middle of the park. He has scored five, including one against Bayern, and six assists.
Bayern are one of the four clubs interested in Neuhaus, as are Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid – with the knowledge that a release clause worth £35.5million is included in his contract from the summer onwards. Spurs are also interested.

TBR’s view – Dele will certainly be sold if Neuhaus is bought
A box-to-box midfielder, Neuhaus is certainly forward thinking – having a hand in 31 goals during his 96 Gladbach appearances. Spurs boast Dele, Tanguy Ndombele and Gio Lo Celso in that attacking midfield role.
So, if Neuhaus is bought, surely that means Dele will be sold? Already way behind Ndombele and probably further down the pecking order than Lo Celso, it is a surprise that Dele has not yet left Tottenham this month.
But should Neuhaus join in the summer, then Dele will almost certainly be off.
