Report: Tottenham are already in advanced talks to loan out ‘outstanding’ player when the January window opens

Tottenham are already in advanced negotiations to loan out Spaniard Bryan Gil to Real Mallorca when the transfer window opens.

Spanish outlet claim that plenty of work has already been done over a mid-season exit for the playmaker.

He left midway through Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge too, going to Valencia where he impressed back in La Liga.

He offered a reminder of what he could do there and he was described as an ‘outstanding footballer‘ by the media during his loan spell.

Gil in advanced talks over January loan exit

He has yet to start a game for Spurs this season, although he did impress with a Champions League cameo appearance.

Conte seems to like his quality but has reservations over his physicality and ability to deal with the demands of the Premier League.

He should be able to shine in Spanish football, getting some form and confidence together after another season of struggle at Spurs.

Perhaps Conte would be reluctant to get rid of Gil without a replacement but if the report is true, that does not appear to be the case.

Perhaps the FA Cup third round clash with Portsmouth would provide Gil with a good chance for a first start of the season.

But he may well be back in Spain by then if negotiations keep progressing as they have been and Spurs do not stand in the way of an exit.
