Report: Tottenham about to bid up to £25m for ‘incredible’ player

Tottenham Hotspur may have to be prepared to double their initial offer for Adama Traore, that Wolves want £30 million for the Spain international.

Spurs have made a big play to bring in Adama this month. The Sun reports that they have already seen a £15 million bid for the wide-man rejected.

It is claimed that they are preparing a new offer. They plan to bid an initial £20 million for the 25-year-old, with a further £5 million coming in add-ons.

However, it would appear that Tottenham will still have plenty to do if they hope to sign Traore. that Wolves actually want £30 million. That is despite the former Barcelona man entering the final 18 months of his contract at Molineux.

Tottenham spending £30 million on Adama Traore would be huge gamble

It is hard to believe that Tottenham would be willing to offer £30 million for Traore. His value is only likely to drop as the end of his contract edges closer.

And he has not been able to produce anything like the numbers that he has the potential to contribute. He has only scored one goal in the Premier League this season. And he has not yet provided an assist.

Having said all that, Tottenham are prepared to make an offer worth up to £25 million. So they may be open to the idea of improving their bid further should Wolves dig their heels in.

Certainly, the pressure shall be on Traore should he cost Tottenham £30 million. Spurs appear to have spent plenty of time trying to bring the attacker to the club this month.

He is a divisive player. Some would be extremely excited about his arrival. Pep Guardiola previously described him as an ‘‘ player.

Others would be less convinced. So agreeing to spend £30 million would be a real roll of the dice.
