Report: Three-time league champion has spoken to Mourinho about possible Spurs move, could be ‘very close’
Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly spoken to Thomas Meunier about a prospective summer move to Spurs, according to .
Meunier joined Paris Saint-Germain from Club Brugge for a (£6.3million) fee in 2016.
The 28-year-old right-back has made 128 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants, claiming 13 goals and 21 assists ().

However, Meunier has started just 14 games in the French top flight this term and, with no breakthrough in contract talks, he appears set to seek pastures new on a free transfer.
According to , Mourinho has told Meunier that he wants him at Spurs next season, which apparently went “very close” to convincing the Belgian to make the move.
The 6ft 3in ace won the Belgian Pro League with Brugge in 2016 before lifting the French Ligue 1 title with PSG in 2018 and 2019.
Meunier also helped Belgium finish third in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
TBR View:
Meunier is a high-calibre player with plenty of experience at the highest level and, as well as being great in defence, is also a constant threat up the flank and in the final third – making him a great option for Tottenham.
The latest report will be music to the ears of Spurs fans, making it more of a possibility that 40-cap international who was valued at £26million just last summer () could arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for absolutely nothing.
