According to , Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile is keen to leave France for Newcastle United before the window shuts this month.

The Magpies have already signed Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood, but they are far from done. Eddie Howe is looking for another striker, a midfielder and most importantly, a centre-half to bolster his defence.

Lille’s Sven Botman was Newcastle’s first-choice target, it is no secret now. But, the French champions stood firm and rejected all bids that came their way.

As a result, Newcastle have had to look elsewhere and Badiashile seems like their top target now.

Benoit Badiashile wants to join Newcastle United

Newcastle wanting a top player is one thing but their ability to convince that player to switch their current club for a relegation battle is a completely different challenge.

Thankfully for Howe, he doesn’t have to worry about that when it comes to Badiashile.

The report claims that the Monaco youngster, who has been linked with multiple top European clubs in the past, is keen to join Newcastle United before the end of this month.

That is a huge boost for the Magpies, whose defence will definitely improve with Badiashile at the heart of it.

The new Raphael Varane?

Badiashile is still only 20, but he has been making the headlines for quite some time now.

Back in July 2020, the Frenchman was reportedly a target for Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. made that claim and even went on to label Badiashile as the ‘new Raphael Varane’.

That is a humongous compliment for any defender, let alone a teenager who was yet to play outside his home country.

If Badiashile joins Newcastle and goes on to have even half as good a career as Varane has had, Magpies fans will be one happy bunch.
