TRB’s View:

Minamino really caught the eye in the two group stage fixtures he played agianst Liverpool this season and it’s no surprise to see Klopp take a fancy to him.

The Japan international is a forward with tremendous work-rate and energy, while most importantly he’s got an eye for goal.

Liverpool have proven they do have strength in depth in their squad, but aren’t prepared to stand still and the Salzburg wide man should only help them push for the Premier League title in the second half of the season.

Klopp has shown he’s got a knack for developing very good players into world-class ones, so it will be intriguing to see if Minamino is his next project.
