Report: Takehiro Tomiyasu has agreed Tottenham personal terms

Tottenham Hotspur look to have cleared one major hurdle in their push to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu, that personal terms have been agreed.

The early signs have suggested that Tomiyasu may well become the first signing of the Fabio Paratici era at Hotspur Way.

It was initially claimed last month that Spurs were confident of a deal. In fact, it was being reported at that stage that talks were already underway.

And now, that a move will take place – barring any late surprises.

According to their report, Spurs are only £1.7 million off Bologna’s asking price.

Tottenham have offered £15.4 million, while the Serie A side want £17.1 million.

And they also suggest that Tomiyasu has already agreed personal terms. So finalising a fee may be all that is left to sort.

Coup for Tottenham as Tomiyasu agrees personal terms

Tottenham are not the only side tracking Tomiyasu. Manchester United were reportedly considering him as a target. Atalanta meanwhile, also made their move.

West Ham were linked more recently.

So it looks to be a coup for Spurs. He is seemingly not going to eat up too much of the club’s budget.

And the 22-year-old brings plenty to the table. He can play at centre-back or right-back. And he already has 60 Serie A appearances under his belt.

It may be too soon to expect Tomiyasu to be the finished article. But Tottenham look set to land a very talented young player for a very reasonable fee.

Paratici getting Spurs’ summer back on track?

It has already been a turbulent summer for Spurs fans. The club spent much of the last few months without a permanent manager.

But Nuno Espirito Santo is now in place. And the club’s first signing looks to be not too far away.

There is plenty still to do. But the early signs suggest that Paratici is going to do all he can to make up for lost time.
