Report suggests Turkish interest in Yerry Mina but Everton will surely give him another year
Everton centre-back Yerry Mina has transfer interest from Fenerbahce, according to reports in Turkey. that the Istanbul club are keen on the Colombian. It comes after a poor season from the Turkish giants, who at one point flirted with a shock relegation from the Super Lig.
The Toffees only signed Mina a year ago. The Colombian joined the Merseyside club in a deal to be in the region of £27.2 million.
It came after his impressive displays at the World Cup and with Barcelona ready to sell Everton beat off plenty of competition for his signature.

However, the talented defender struggled in his first season at Goodison Park. He arrived with an injury which would plague him throughout the campaign. Inconsistent displays followed and loanee Kurt Zouma outperformed him during his temporary stint at the club.
In fact, were it not for Chelsea’s transfer ban, Everton would surely be signing Zouma and considering any viable bids for last summer’s big recruit.
Instead, Everton should give Mina another season. Transitioning into a new club from abroad can be tough and Mina may have needed a settling in period first. Plus, when he has performed well, Mina has looked a colossus at the back who could become a star for Everton down the line.
Expect plenty of interest like this for Mina this summer. However, it is likely next year is when the 24-year-old truly thrives.
