Report suggests three loanees who might get Liverpool first-team chance next season
three current loanees who might have a shot at playing first-team football at Anfield next season.
Transfer activity is expected to be at a minimum for Liverpool this summer, with some players expected to leave but not many expected to arrive.
For example, it would appear the long-debated and talked about interest in Timo Werner of RB Leipzig is going nowhere.
However, the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Adam Lallana do still look likely to leave Liverpool this summer.
So how can the Reds replenish their first-team options?
There is the youth-team of course, with the excellent Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott able replacements for Shaqiri and Lallana.
However, the Echo has reported that three loanees might get their shot.
The players in question are Marko Grujic, Rhian Brewster, and Harry Wilson.
Grujic, in particular, is reported to be of interest as a Liverpool option with it suggested the Serbian, currently on loan at Hertha Berlin, could get a chance if Liverpool do not make any signings.
Brewster and Wilson, who are currently on loan at Swansea City and Bournemouth respectively, are just said to be ‘hoping to take advantage’ of the potential situation.
Jurgen Klopp is known to be a big fan of Brewster and with no deal likely for Werner, the England youth star might finally get his Liverpool first-team chance.
Wilson had an excellent start to the season with Bournemouth but the Welsh international has struggled to find his best form since scoring a double against Tottenham in November. In fact, the winger has not scored since.
There is no mention of other Liverpool loanees, such as Ben Woodburn, Sheyi Ojo, or Ovie Ejaria, so it is fair to say they are not currently being considered as potential first-teamers for Liverpool next season.
But for the three mentioned, Liverpool’s lack of transfer activity might just provide them with a golden opportunity to finally make an impact at Anfield.
