Report suggests Schalke have ‘no purchase option’ for Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny
Schalke 04 do not have an option to buy Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny permanently, according to reports in Germany.
This summer saw Everton allow the England under-21 international to join the Bundesliga side on loan for the 2019-20 campaign. At the time, it was suggested there was the opportunity for Schalke to make the deal permanent next summer.
However, that this is not the case.
They report that Schalke sporting director Jochen Schneider ‘has no purchase option’ for the Everton loanee.

Schalke will, however, want to keep the player, after his excellent form in the early stages of the season. But it seems Everton remain in the driving seat when it comes to Kenny’s long-term future.
TBR’s View
This should be treated as good news by Everton fans.
Whilst Kenny divides opinion among the fanbase there is no doubt that he has the potential to be a Premier League full-back.
In the Bundesliga so far this season he has shown exactly that and some Everton fans have been wondering why he was allowed to go in the first place.
With Seamus Coleman turning 31 tomorrow and Djibril Sidibe currently a loan signing, Kenny could be the future for Everton at right-back.
