Report suggests Rodgers stance on ‘outstanding’ academy talent with Leicester exit possible
Leicester City talent Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is the most likely academy star to break into Brendan Rodgers’ first-team next season, per .
Rodgers is keen to build a squad with a winning mentality at the King Power Stadium in the transfer window. But the Foxes boss will also look to blend any new arrivals with prospects from the club’s Under 23s.
Leicester are releasing nine of their youngsters this summer after they failed to catch Rodgers’ eye. That includes former Celtic defender Azeem Abdulai, who moved to the East Midlands last year, and will now target a raft of fresh faces.

Leicester view Dewsbury-Hall as the brightest talent already in the academy fold after he shone on loan at Luton Town. The 22-year-old joined the Hatters in October and would start Championship appearances.
The Shepshed-born midfielder also offered three goals and six assists from a deep-lying position under Nathan Jones. His efforts helped Luton finish 12th in the table and with the ninth best defensive record in the division.
Jones has already stated, via , that he would love Dewsbury-Hall to go back to Kenilworth Road next season. But Rodgers may offer the youngster his Leicester breakthrough after in the cups.
Dewsbury-Hall could still leave the King Power Stadium this summer, however. Another season on loan in the Championship with a promotion-chasing side is possible, if not with a lower-half or newly-promoted Premier League club.
TBR’s view: Dewsbury-Hall deserves Leicester chance
Leicestershire Live’s report suggests Rodgers will likely give Dewsbury-Hall his breakthrough at Leicester next season. And the Foxes boss should look to hand the midfielder a real chance to prove himself after a strong run last term.
Dewsbury-Hall left Luton with a big gap to fill in Jones’ midfield such was the level to his performances. Hatters captain Sonny Bradley was aware of that, and told a fans’ event, via :
“He was my personal player of the year, he’s an outstanding talent. Looking back now, I don’t know how we managed to get him in the building. For me, he’s Premier League quality. He will be missed, and, in my opinion, he’ll be the hardest to replace because of the quality he has. I’d love him to come back.”
But Rodgers should see that Dewsbury-Hall remains at Leicester and shows his Premier League quality. As he seems to have the right attitude, after telling the that he is focused on being one of the best to earn a shot.
