A report by the has claimed that Takumi Minamino is a big part of Liverpool’s plans ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The Japanese forward is yet to start a Premier League game since being signed by Jurgen Klopp for during the January transfer window.

Minamino has been restricted to three starts in the Premier League, with his four other appearances coming off the bench in either the league or the Champions League.

He arrived at Anfield on the back of a solid time of things at Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, where he bagged nine goals and claimed 11 assists before switching to Liverpool.

The report from the suggests that Klopp has no plans to dump the January signing though, indicating that the German boss has complete faith in Minamino.

Winning a place in the Liverpool team was never going to prove easy for Minamino given how many star players Klopp has at his disposal.

At 25, however, he shouldn’t be overly worried. Several fringe players will leave in the summer but Minamino will almost certainly be part of the club’s plans.

Adapting to life in the Premier League isn’t easy and given his versatility, Liverpool must identify where they see him featuring regularly.

The man with 22 caps for Japan can play on either flank, as a striker of as a No.10 and it’ll be interesting to see what Klopp has in mind for him.

It would seem there are no plans for him to be flogged or loaned out, however, and that could make for exciting times for Minamino.
