Report suggests Everton are reluctant to pay over £20m for Allan
Everton have long been linked with a move for Napoli midfielder Allan this summer, with Carlo Ancelotti a huge fan of his former captain at the Stadio San Paolo.
However, despite numerous reports in recent weeks regarding Everton and Napoli getting closer to a financial agreement for the Brazilian, a report from has cast fresh doubt on a potential accord between the two clubs.
They claim that Everton are still reluctant to go above the £20 million mark for Allan. The midfield general turns 30 in January which is putting Everton off of the potential £36 million price-tag on his head.

Whilst the report claims Napoli are prepared to meet in the middle, suggesting a considerable climb down from their obdurate chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis, the figures still appear to be a considerable distance apart.
Everton clearly need new recruits in the midfield area. Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin have proven injury-prone whilst Andre Gomes is painfully inconsistent. Tom Davies still has growing to do whilst Gylfi Sigurdsson looks out of place in a deeper position.
Allan is clearly viewed as the perfect recruit but in these tough financial times, Everton might not be prepared to pay the price for said perfection.
