Report suggests Edinson Cavani would not be interested in Newcastle United move
Edinson Cavani appears to have no interest in a free transfer move to Newcastle United, according to a report.
The Uruguayan goal-machine has been linked with a move to Newcastle in the summer, with the Magpies the subject of a £300 million Saudi-backed takeover.
that Newcastle United have been in touch with Cavani’s entourage about a potential deal for a player who earns a £360,000-a-week.
However,, Cavani has no interest in the move. They claim a source highlighted Cavani’s decision not to move to Atletico Madrid and teams in Italy as a reason to suggest Newcastle United will not be able to attract the player.
It seems that Cavani is set for a move out of Europe when his contract at PSG comes to an end.
He has been linked with moves to MLS, including David Beckham’s Inter Miami franchise. It’s even been suggested that a move back to his homeland to join Penarol is on the cards.
It appears that Cavani is not willing to join a team like Atletico and, in turn, that means Newcastle would have little chance of convincing the 33-year-old, despite their incoming wealth.
So Cavani may just be a pipedream for the Toon Army.
