Report suggests Carlo Ancelotti arrival has seen Everton’s Kurt Zouma interest wane

Chelsea are reportedly open to the sale of Kurt Zouma this summer, but long-term admirers Everton will not be making a move.

Last summer, Everton wanted to secure the services of their former loanee on a permanent deal after his impressive displays at Goodison Park. a £30 million price-tag was the sticking point for Everton.

Once Chelsea had sold David Luiz to Arsenal, Everton chances of securing the Frenchman dropped to zero and he returned to Stamford Bridge.

Zouma looks the most likely to leave, with Tottenham being credited with an interest.

But any Everton fans hoping to see Zouma back at Goodison Park are set to be disappointed. Whilst Marco Silva would have jumped at the opportunity, it is claimed that Everton’s interest in Zouma ‘has waned’ since the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti.

TBR’s View

Everton’s inability to sign another centre-back last summer looks set to backfire for the club upon the Premier League’s restart. Yerry Mina is injured, leaving Everton with just Mason Holgate and Michael Keane available in the role.

This summer, it appears that Everton are again in the hunt for a centre-back, with Lille’s Brazilian star Gabriel Magalhaes a major target.

Zouma would be a popular target for Everton fans however, it would appear that Ancelotti has moved on from the 25-year-old Frenchman.

Considering his ability, relative youth, and familiarity with the Everton fans, that might be an error.
