Report: Steven Gerrard ‘big fan’ of Aston Villa player yet to feature for him; wanted him at Rangers

Keinan Davis is yet to feature for Aston Villa under Steven Gerrard, that his new boss is a big fan of the striker having wanted to bring him to Ibrox while in charge at Rangers.

Davis has not been far away in the striker pecking order for some years now. However, he has been unable to take that next step and establish himself in the side.

The 23-year-old has six goals in 86 games in all competitions. And with Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins ahead of him, some associated with the Villans must wonder what the future holds for Davis.

However, it would appear that he has actually got a fantastic opportunity. That is because his manager is reportedly a ‘big fanof the academy graduate.

It is suggested that several Championship sides want to take Davis on loan. However, the injury to Ings may end those teamshopes of signing the starlet next month.

Time for Keinan Davis to step up for Aston Villa with Steven Gerrard a big fan

Admittedly, many of Davis’s appearances for the first-team have come from the substitutesbench. So his statistics are somewhat misleading.

However, one Premier League goal in 34 appearances is not particularly impressive for a player who turns 24 in February.

But he has a manager who reportedly sees his potential. So this could certainly prove to be a defining period in his Villa career.
