Report: Stade Rennais turn attention to signing Tottenham Hotspur man on loan
French website RMC Sport have claimed – – that French club Stade Rennais have turned their attention to signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth on loan this summer, as the race for the Argentine hots up.
Foyth, 23, has struggled at Spurs since Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentina international has started just one Premier League game under Mourinho, in which he was hooked at half-time. He has not played since December.
that Leeds had a £25million offer rejected earlier this summer, while the former Estudiantes star had been offered to La Liga trio Villarreal, Valencia and Real Sociedad on loan. Some reports say Fulham are keen.
Now, the latest report states that Rennes are interested in luring Foyth to France on loan. Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan was their priority, but Rennes only wanted to pay £12million – with his asking price set at £18million.

TBR’s view – Tottenham should choose Rennes for Foyth
The reason for that, is because after Rennes finished in third place in Ligue 1 last term – they have qualified for the Champions League group stage. Having that European experience would be crucial for Foyth’s development.
Tottenham should allow Foyth to join Rennes on loan, with the guarantee that he is first choice and will start all Champions League outings given he is available. It may see Foyth return and shine at Spurs.
