Report: Spurs’s Jack Clarke set for another loan with Leeds future in doubt

Jack Clarke is likely to head elsewhere on loan during the January transfer window, that Tottenham Hotspur are set to recall the winger from his spell at Leeds United in the winter.

Clarke has not played a minute of Championship football this season. Leeds have six loanees on their books, and the wide-man has been the man to miss out on the matchday squad on every occasion.

It is no surprise that Tottenham look set to bring him back as things stand. They would have hoped that he would take his game to another level during this final year with Leeds. But they appear to now fear that his development may stagnate if things do not change.

Mauricio Pochettino will have to weigh up whether he wants to keep Clarke in his ranks for the rest of the season, or loan him out again.

that it is more than likely that the 18-year-old will push for another loan elsewhere should he return to Tottenham in January.

TBR’s View

Tottenham will surely be wary of loaning Clarke out after his struggles at Leeds. Few of the Elland Road faithful are looking at the current side’s fortunes and imploring Marcelo Bielsa to give him a chance.

The Whites have a lot of quality out wide. That may not be a problem elsewhere, but the last thing Clarke needs is to head to another club and find himself struggling for game-time once again.

Spurs therefore, arguably need to be smart if they loan him out again. If Clarke can play regularly, he should be able to rediscover the form that he showed when he initially burst onto the scene almost a year ago.
