Report: Spurs want Ollie Watkins to replace Harry Kane if he leaves this summer
According to , Spurs have put Ollie Watkins on their summer wishlist, should the club lose Harry Kane during the window.
Watkins has enjoyed an explosive first season in the Premier League this year with Aston Villa. His goals have led to him getting England recognition, and he is in Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad.
However, that form has also caught the eye of onlooking clubs, it seems.
Spurs, then, are one of the clubs being linked with a move. claims that both Watkins, and Southampton striker Danny Ings, are high up on Tottenham’s list should they lose Kane.

Watkins has been lauded at times this season. Indeed, his current teammate and Villa skipper, Jack Grealish, has described him as a ‘dream’ to play with.
Watkins signed for Villa back in the summer for a fee reported to be around the £33m mark (. Villa beat off a host of clubs to land the then-Brentford striker, including the likes of Sheffield United and Newcastle.
The forward hit 14 goals in the Premier League this season. But away from just his goals, his energy, work-rate, and all-around team ethic has seen him earn rave reviews.
Spurs could do far worse than Ollie Watkins if Kane does leave
The only problem Spurs might have is convincing Villa that they should sell Watkins in the first place. The Midlands club don’t need the money, and Watkins is so important to them anyway.
Along with Jack Grealish, you could argue he’s Villa’s most important player in the first XI. His play as the lone striker brings so much to the cause.
Of course, any player will have his price. And if Spurs are armed with £150m or so from the sale of Harry Kane, then there’s every chance they could try and tempt Villa.
