Report: Spurs want Luis Diaz; Colombian scored a stunner this week in Copa America

Spurs are reportedly keen on signing Colombian star Luis Diaz this summer, as the club seeks attacking reinforcements.

Diaz scored the winning goal for Colombia last night as they won 3-2 in their third place Copa America play-off with Peru., Diaz is high on Spurs’ list of targets.

They claim that Spurs, along with Roma and Inter Milan are also keen on the 24-year-old forward. Diaz, who currently plays for Porto, can play up top but can also occupy the wide-forward positions.

Per a report from the l, Diaz won the praise of his teammate Juan Cuadrado last night, with the former Chelsea man insisting Colombia wouldn’t have won without Diaz.

“We won because of Lucho,. He has an excellent level and he will achieve great things,” Cuadrado said after the game.

New Spurs supremo Fabio Paratici is keen to bring in a number of new signings this summer. Defensive reinforcements are said to be the priority.

But with Harry Kane’s future still unresolved, adding attacking players to the list is also important.

Diaz a long-term target?

Spurs looking at Diaz is nothing brand new. They were with him in the summer of 2020, so he’s clearly someone they admire.

The question now is if they really do want to make a move. However, last year, reports suggested Diaz would not be sold for anything less than £68m.

That is a sum that Spurs will simply not be shelling out. Unless, of course, the cash in on Kane.

Diaz is a quality player. But whether he can be the answer if Kane does leave, is another matter.
