Report: Spurs think the next Jan Vertonghen is already in their ranks
Tottenham Hotspur coaches are reportedly hoping that Joe Rodon can become Jan Vertonghen’s replacement, according to .
Rodon joined Tottenham from Swansea at the end of the domestic summer transfer window last October for £11million plus add-ons.
The 23-year-old hasn’t had much luck in terms of game time this term, with 14 appearances for Spurs and just eight Premier League starts.

Rodon didn’t even have the opportunity to play in the Europa League as he signed too late to make Spurs’ group-stage squad.
Jose Mourinho then opted to leave him out of the knockout stages too as he didn’t want to remove anyone that was registered for the groups.
Although Tottenham are apparently looking for a new experienced centre-back, has suggested that Rodon is still in their plans.
“The promising centre-back is not a direct replacement right now for the Belgian although it is hoped he will be eventually,” wrote the outlet.
TBR View:
Rodon is a talented prospect who’s shown glimpses of quality in 2020-21 and, with a bit of work, could become an important player for Spurs.
However, Tottenham’s defence is in need of bolstering, so it’s good to hear that they’re reportedly looking for a top centre-back who can slot in right away.
