TBR View: Spurs right to cash in on Aurier

As Foot Mercato notes, Aurier’s contract expires at the end of next season. So it looks to be the right decision to let him go in the coming months.

In an ideal world, Tottenham would secure a larger fee for the Ivorian. His departure is likely set to help Spurs fund their own plans this summer.

But there have been times throughout his spell when Spurs fans would have been delighted at the prospect of getting around £10 million for the defender.

At his best, he is an outstanding player. However, the mistakes he makes are arguably too frequent.

His exit will also clear a lot of space off the wage bill. , he is on £70,000-a-week. So cashing in this summer looks to be best for all parties.
