Fabio Paratici has seemingly moved ahead and advanced the deal, meaning Arsenal look to be left licking their wounds once again the market.

The Argentine striker was on the radar of the Gunners. However, like so many this summer, no deal had been agreed. Spurs, then, have stepped in and sorted the terms quickly.

If Martinez agrees terms with Spurs, then it will take their summer spending well in excess of the £100m mark. Interestingly, claims Lautaro would be brought in to play alongside Harry Kane.

Statement signing from Spurs

Wow. What a signing this would be for Spurs, and what a bold move by Paratici and Daniel Levy.

Tottenham are taking advantage of the situation at Inter, while Edu and Arsenal just don’t seem to be able to get to work quick enough.

Martinez will bring notable improvement to the fold for Spurs. Pace, power, and goals in abundance, he is a truly world-class signing for the club.

£60m is a huge statement of intent as well.
