Report: Spurs keen on Oliver Glasner; £4.3m break clause expires on Friday

Oliver Glasner is yet another name on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar, that they are running out of time to appoint him on the cheap.

Spurs seem to have been linked with almost every manager around since Jose Mourinho’s departure last week.

And Glasner seems to have become the latest in the frame for the post. The Daily Express reports that the Wolfsburg boss is on their wishlist.

However, the report notes that the 46-year-old is not currently one of their top targets.

That may be significant as the ideal window to make their move ends later this week.

, Glasner’s contract includes a break clause meaning that a club would only need to pay £4.3 million to appoint the Austrian.

However, the report claims that that clause is only active until the end of April. So it would certainly appear highly unlikely that he will end up at Tottenham.

Glasner has done an outstanding job with Wolfsburg. They currently sit third in the Bundesliga and are on course to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since they had Kevin De Bruyne in their ranks.

Having said that, his side have not played the most exciting brand of football. So it may not have been the best move anyway amid all of the frustrations Spurs fans had during Mourinho’s tenure.
