Julian Nagelsmann will be going to Bayern Munich, Erik ten Hag has penned a new contract with Ajax and Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers reportedly uninterested in the Tottenham job.

According to the , Spurs are now looking to a more experienced manager instead of a coach with “youthful potential”.

Benitez is currently unattached to a club, having left Dalian Professional earlier this year, and the reported last week that he “would consider an approach” from Spurs.

Ralf Rangnick and Massimiliano Allegri are also said to be on Tottenham’s shortlist.

Benitez is a coach of the highest calibre with an impressive CV, having managed at Real Madrid and winning trophies at Valencia, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Napoli and Newcastle United.

Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said several years ago – as quoted by – that he is “one of the best managers in the world”.

And considering Spurs wouldn’t have to pay compensation for him either, he certainly looks like a good shout for the hotseat.
