Report: Spurs could be offered Nathan Ake in Kane bid

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reluctant to offer Gabriel Jesus to Spurs in a bid for Harry Kane, that Nathan Ake could instead be included.

The Daily Star notes that Kane is keen to join the Cityzens. But of course, Daniel Levy is not planning to let the striker leave for anything other than the best price.

Interestingly, it appears that an offer involving Jesus could be tempting for Tottenham.

However, Guardiola is keen to keep Jesus. And thus, the Daily Star suggests that Ake going in the opposite direction may appeal to City more.

The report does not share what Spurs would make of a swap bid involving Ake. But it does appear that they are looking to strengthen their options in defence this summer.

So a move for Ake would make sense on that front. While he has not had the easiest time at City, he is a player who has shown a lot of promise during his career.

So you can understand why moving him on would potentially work for Guardiola’s side, particularly if it helps pave the way for Kane coming in the other direction.

Having said that, the word ‘compromise’ is unlikely to be one Levy considers when it comes to discussing Kane’s future.

If Spurs are not completely happy with the offer on the table, they would surely be only too content to walk away and hold onto their talisman.
