Report: Spurs and Arsenal target Joachim Andersen wants to stay in England

Arsenal and Spurs will be delighted with reports today that suggest Fulham loan star, Joachim Andersen, wants to remain in England.

reports today that Andersen is currently happy in London. Indeed, he hopes to remain in the Premier League and the capital if possible, seemingly putting an end to his spell in Lyon.

Andersen has been a bright light for Fulham this term, despite their relegation. Both and Arsenal are said to be keen, although a £20m asking price is something either club will need to meet to land the Danish star.

reported just a few days back how Arsenal could look to hijack any potential Spurs move for Andersen. However, Spurs might have a trump card up their sleeve if they opt to bring Scott Parker in as manager.

Andersen’s admission will no doubt have perked the interest of the north London duo. Both teams need a new defender this summer, with Andersen’s £20m valuation not the biggest fee in the world.

And that’s the million dollar question both clubs and managers will be weighing up. Yes he’s impressed, but his team has still gone down, meaning any decision to spend £20m needs to be considered.

Andersen is a good player, there is no doubt. But with the pandemic affecting revenues, any signings are going to be well thought out this summer in the PL.

Arsenal and Spurs, then, might find themselves with a decision to make rather quickly.
