Report: Southampton willing to move Leeds target Che Adams on

Leeds United have received a potential boost in their pursuit of Che Adams, that Southampton are willing to move the striker on this summer.

Adams has been a player Ralph Hasenhuttl has shown a lot of faith in since his arrival from Birmingham City. In fact, many Saints fans were probably surprised that the club did not let him go when Leeds came calling in 2020.

But Southampton were vindicated for that faith. He scored seven goals and provided three assists in the Premier League last season. None of the club’s other forwards found the back of the net more often.

Adams’ future became a talking point in the last couple of weeks. Reports last month claimed that Leeds were eyeing a move for the Scotland international.

The Whites are ready to pay £10 million for the 26-year-old. And there was optimism that a deal could be agreed.

Adams was an unused substitute on Saturday as Southampton were thrashed by Tottenham. that the Saints are willing to sell him in this window.

Leeds fans want another forward to come in this summer. They opened their Premier League account with a win at the weekend. But it does appear that they need further depth in the final third.

Adams is not the most prolific. But he is someone who works incredibly hard for the team. So he would arguably be a very smart addition to Jesse Marsch’s ranks.

His performances have previously been labelled ‘‘. And it feels as though the Saints may be on the verge of making a real mistake, unless he is replaced.

Leeds may have names ahead of him on the wishlist. But if the opportunity is there, the Whites surely have to ask the question.
