Report: Southampton to win £14 million striker race following managerial casualty
Southampton will reportedly win the race to sign Che Adams for a fee in the region of £14 million.
, the Birmingham City ace is now ‘set’ to join the Saints after they had a bid of £10 million rejected back in January.
Adams scored 22 goals last term and is now one of the most coveted players in the Championship as a result.

Sheffield United and Burnley have also been linked with a move for the Englishman, and he has been widely expected to move on.
A move away could happen sooner rather than later now, with Birmingham having sacked popular manager Garry Monk on Tuesday ().
The 40-year-old’s 15-month stint at St. Andrews is officially over, and the disarray could now accelerate Adams’ proposed move to the south coast.
TBR’s view
Adams would be a decent signing for Southampton, who lacked firepower last term.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side were toothless in attack at times.

Danny Ings did fairly well on loan from Liverpool, but question marks remain over the quality of Shane Long and Charlie Austin.
Adams may not have any top-flight experience but he is arguably worth the gamble with the market massively inflated.
His pace has the potential to hurt teams, and his finishing has become much more accomplished.
