Report: Southampton have £16 million offer for Che Adams accepted
According to the , Birmingham City have accepted a £16 million bid from Southampton for Che Adams. The report further states that the striker has already said goodbye to his teammates at St Andrew’s Stadium ahead of his switch to St Mary’s Stadium.
Adams shone for the Blues in the Championship last season. The 22-year-old notched 22 goals and 5 assists over the course of the league campaign. The young Englishman is now ready to make the step up to the top flight.
The Saints are certainly in need of a goalscorer. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side struggled to maintain a consistent goal threat and the squad needs a competitor for Danny Ings. Adams could soon find himself challenging Ings to be first choice to lead the line.
Adams also represents a smart signing for the future. The forward’s best years are almost certainly still ahead of him and he comes with plenty of potential resale value. This is also a great move for Adams personally, as he’ll finally get the chance to prove himself at the highest level.
