Report: Southampton closing in on £6.4m move for Lynaco
Southampton are reportedly closing in on a €7.5m (£6.4m) deal for Olympique Lyonnais centre-back Lyanco.
What’s the story?
According to , only official confirmation is left before validating a move to St Mary’s Stadium.
The original asking price for the Torino defender was €8m (£6.9m) . However, his intention to leave forced the Italian side to accept a lower offer.
Ralph Hasenhuttl is preparing to welcome a defender after watching Jannik Vestergaard leave for Leicester City.
Brendan Rodgers watched Wesley Fofana limp out of action until 2022 during pre-season.
As a result, they signed the Danish ace in a deal earlier in August.

Southampton need defensive reinforcements
The start to this campaign has been fairly brutal for the Saints.
Back-to-back games against Everton and Manchester United have revealed some gaping holes in defence.
During with the Red Devils, Hasenhuttl was forced to go to a back-five to contain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.
It worked, with Southampton picking up their first point of the season, but not without a scare. United set up for a second-half onslaught after equalising, and were unfortunate to not get all three points.
Lynaco was a standout player in Serie A for his side last season. He averaged the most passes and was dribbled past the second-least number of times of any defender.
With the exit of Vestergaard, the arrival of Lynaco for £6.4m is a necessary transfer for Southampton.
It will add depth, and more importantly, replace the quality of the Dane.
