Report: Some insiders at London Colney think 21-year-old Arsenal player is seriously overhyped

According to a report from , insiders at Arsenal are divided over William Saliba.
The young defender joined the Gunners back in 2019 but he’s yet to play a minute of competitive football in the famous red and white.
After loans at Saint-Etienne and Nice, Saliba is currently at Marseille and he has been fantastic there. His performances since the start of the season have been really good and he’s now a France international as well following his debut against Nicolas Pepe’s Ivory Coast last night.
Arsenal fans would love Saliba back at the Emirates this summer but it looks like there are some people at Arsenal who aren’t fully convinced about the Frenchman.
Some at Arsenal think William Saliba is overhyped
Saliba has been owned by Arsenal for almost three years now but he has only spent a little over six months at London Colney.
He was deemed not ready for the Premier League then and it looks like some people are still of the same opinion now.
The report claims that there are folks inside Arsenal who believe that the hype surrounding Saliba actually outweighs his talent.
However, there are others with an opposing view – they feel the young French defender has done enough out on loan and deserves an opportunity to wear the Arsenal shirt next season.

TBR View:
The hype around Saliba really is high even though he’s yet to play a game in English football. However, that doesn’t mean he’s not talented!
The young Frenchman is arguably the best in the world among centre-halves of his age. He has been a mainstay at Marseille and his performances have even impressed World Cup-winning manager Didier Deschamps, who handed him his debut last night.
Saliba is a brilliant young player and has the world at his feet. He’s still only 21 and he will only get better in the coming years.
He definitely does deserve a chance at Arsenal next season but with Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White going so strong, it won’t be a surprise to see Mikel Arteta turn the other way again.
