Report: Sheffield Wednesday keen on James Garner, Manchester United willing to let player leave
Sheffield Wednesday are set to battle it out with Swansea City to sign Manchester United midfielder, James Garner, .
The United youngster is set for a loan move this summer as Old Trafford officials look to give the teenager some game time during the 20/21 campaign.

Despite impressing coaching staff and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Garner has struggled to get into the first XI this season.
Indeed, he’s made just a handful of appearances, namely off the bench.
However, news of his availability has apparently sparked the Owls into life, who will be operating firmly within the loan market for next season. Manager Garry Monk is already under pressure and knows new faces are needed next term.

Wednesday have had a miserable season since making a good start under Monk. Dressing room and off-field unrest have plagued the campaign. A number of senior players are expected to leave this summer.
That, then, could well open the door for Garner to move to Hillsborough.

Championship clubs don’t come much bigger than Sheffield Wednesday. In that sense, then, a move to Sheffield for Garner would be a good experience.
On the other hand, though, Man United will want him playing in an environment he can thrive in. At the moment, or at least prior to lockdown, Sheffield Wednesday were not that environment.
There will undoubtedly be a transfer scramble for the man the dubbed the ‘next Michael Carrick’. Wednesday will be hoping they can be right in the conversation at the very least.
