
Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly close to signing attacker Alessio Da Cruz on loan from Italian top-flight club Parma, as he’s set for an imminent medical at Hillsborough.
The 23-year-old has been impressing this season during a loan spell with Serie B side Ascoli, but it looks like he could make the switch to England for the second half of the campaign.
, Wednesday are closing in on a deal for the Dutch forward and they have agreed a loan deal for the rest of this season.
It is understood that he is scheduled to have his medical today (Wednesday) and could be unveiled to supporters soon after.
The Owls look set to make their second addition to their squad of the January window following on from the arrival of Manuel Hidalgo.
Garry Monk’s side desperately need some new faces to try lift them out of their poor run of form, which has seen them slip to 11th in the Championship table.
They have lost four of their last five league games to slowly slip away from the play-off picture and are in danger of watching their season drift away.

Da Cruz isn’t the big name addition many Wednesday fans may be hoping for, but he may be a punt worth taking.
The youngster is extremely versatile and is capable of playing as either a winger or in a more central forward position.
He’s scored six goals and supplied seven assists in just 18 matches for Italian second-tier side Ascoli this season.
