, Marco Silva remains the Everton manager with Farhad Moshiri struggling to find a replacement and well aware that plenty of fans would be disappointed with the idea of David Moyes returning.
It appeared that Silva had moved to the brink after Saturday’s defeat to Norwich City at Goodison Park. There were plenty of reports emerging on Monday suggesting that the Portuguese was headed for the exit.
However, no announcement has been made. that that is because Silva remains the Toffees boss and will take training on Tuesday.
The report notes that Moshiri has decided against firing Silva for the time-being. It is suggested that the lack of a credible replacement is leaving the Everton chief hesitant to make a change.
The Mirror reports that Moshiri does not want a repeat of Sam Allardyce’s tenure. And he is well aware that there will be some resistance from the supporters if the club look to bring Moyes back.

It is encouraging that Moshiri is keen to avoid repeating previous mistakes. However, it does appear that some action is needed. Everton are just four points above the bottom three and they have a daunting run of games ahead.
If Moshiri is more confident that Moyes will keep the side up, then he surely must look to agree a deal until the summer.
Of course, if they can produce an ambitious appointment, then that would be a brilliant option. But Everton’s main focus for the coming months has to be making sure that they pull away from their current position.
Once that is sorted, they can turn their attention to the appointment that can take them forward for the long-term.
