TBR View: Spurs fans may look at snub as blessing in disguise given Rudiger’s stance

Spurs may be disappointed to have missed out on signing a defender in the window. It was obviously an area that Jose Mourinho felt, ideally, could do with strengthening.

Nevertheless, missing out on Rudiger may be deemed something of a blessing in disguise given his stance.

Of course, loan moves can leave players in difficult situations. However, Tottenham fans would surely prefer to only see players signed on loan who believe that there is an opportunity to secure a permanent move.

Rudiger – who earns £100,000-a-week, – would have had a reason for motivation had he joined. But Spurs supporters may not have been too happy to know that that motivation would have been doing enough to earn another chance at Chelsea.
