Report shares what Lewandowski did when Aston Villa star Matty Cash arrived at Poland Hotel

Robert Lewandowski cornered Matty Cash at the Poland Team Hotel to discuss the Premier League – and Aston Villa.

Cash, 24, won his first caps for Poland during the international break – after switching his allegiance from England, to Poland, thanks to his Grandfather.

Coming on as a substitute under Paulo Sousa in a 4-1 win over Andorra, Cash then started during the more-recent 2-1 defeat to Hungary.

The latter was a poor result, not only for Poland but also for Cash – who was hooked at half-time. Nevertheless, Cash is certainly caught in a whirlwind.

He is the talk of Polish football at the moment, just as much as Bayern striker Lewandowski. The Athletic say how Lewandowski welcomed him.

“At the team hotel, Lewandowski pulled him aside for a 30-minute chat. He wanted to know more about the Premier League, his club (don’t get excited Villa fans), and his family background,”

Lewandowski greets Cash: Villa star will get better with Poland duty

For Cash, things are only just getting started. Having sorted out his availability for Poland and making his debut – he returns to a new manager.

Steven Gerrard, a Premier League legend, will welcome the right-back – replacing the man that brought him to Villa in the form of Dean Smith.

Exciting times for Cash, which could also finish in the right-back playing at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. That is, if Poland win their play-off.

Meeting Lewandowski is just going to be the half of it. The new Poland international is going on a proper adventure, over the next year or so.
