Report shares Newcastle stance on West Ham defender Issa Diop
Newcastle United are interested in signing Issa Diop from West Ham, with the Magpies battling AC Milan for the Frenchman’s signature, .
Diop has been the beneficiary of the injury problems David Moyes is currently dealing with at the London Stadium. Angelo Ogbonna is out for the long-term. Kurt Zouma is also on the sidelines currently.

Diop has started the Hammers’ last five Premier League games, having been an unused substitute for their previous 14 top-flight fixtures.
And his involvement may in recent times may be a blow for a number of sides ahead of the January transfer window.

It was reported this week that AC Milan had made contact over a potential move. that two of West Ham’s Premier League rivals also want the 24-year-old.
Newcastle and Watford are both admirers of the centre-back. West Ham may choose to keep him beyond the January window.
Newcastle may have funds to tempt West Ham into Issa Diop sale
It is hard to see West Ham selling Diop. He has previously looked an outstanding prospect. Jose Mourinho once labelled him . And the Hammers do not currently have the depth to let any defenders leave.
So any side looking to sign him will surely need to be prepared to spend big to agree a deal. .
It is hard to see Milan or Watford offering the sort of fee West Ham would want. However, Newcastle clearly have the means to make a deal happen.
West Ham will want to be able to sign a replacement if Diop leaves. Newcastle are potentially his one admirer therefore, who could entice the Irons into talks.
