Report shares Mike Ashley’s stance on Steve Bruce’s future after takeover boost

Newcastle United fans can finally be optimistic about their takeover going through after the Saudi Arabian kingdom lifted their ban on beIN sports and are reportedly in the process of agreeing a settlement with the Qatari-based media company.
Magpies supporters have gone through a lot over the last two years. It really did seem like they were on the verge of seeing Mike Ashley’s back for good, but complications surrounding the takeover made it impossible for the Sports Direct boss to walk away.
The Saudi consortium could finally come in to help make Newcastle great again, which is a huge boost, but will Steve Bruce be around till the takeover is complete? A report from reveals Ashley’s stance.
Will Mike Ashley sack Steve Bruce?
Newcastle have started the new Premier League season terribly. The Magpies have picked up just three points from their first seven games, and are currently stuck in 19th.
The Toon army have always wanted Bruce gone and that stance is now stronger than ever.
However, the report claims that Ashley is unlikely to show Bruce the door as he doesn’t want to pay him the compensation he will be owed if he’s sacked.
Sacking the Newcastle boss will reportedly cost Ashley in excess of £6 million now. The Magpies owner has no interest in bearing that cost and he will reportedly pass that burden onto the new owners if and when they come in.

Newcastle will not emulate Manchester City
Manchester City’s rise to fame thanks to enormous investment from their Abu Dhabi owners led many Newcastle fans to believe that their club would see similar growth if the takeover goes through.
However, have reportedly claimed that Newcastle’s potential new owners have the opposite approach. They are keen to play down fans’ expectations and have no plans to do what City’s owners have done over the past decade.
That is slightly underwhelming for Newcastle United supporters, but every fan will still take PIF over Ashley. It really can’t get any worse as far as they’re concerned, but they will still have to tolerate Bruce until the takeover goes through.
