Report shares Kieran Trippier stance on Newcastle move in January
Newcastle United sorting personal terms with Kieran Trippier is expected to be straightforward once a fee is agreed for the Atletico Madrid full-back, .
Magpies boss Eddie Howe has reportedly made Trippier his top target for the January transfer window. The importance of the coming month has ramped up with Newcastle still right at the heart of the relegation battle in the Premier League.

But it would appear that the Magpies are in a good position to land the number one name on their wishlist.
that agreeing terms with the 31-year-old is not expected to be any sort of problem for Newcastle. They do, of course, need to agree a fee with Diego Simeone’s men before reaching that stage.

That fee may prove to be a hefty hurdle, judging by previous reports. It was claimed earlier this month that Newcastle may have to be prepared to part with a club-record sum to meet Atleti’s demands. They previously spent £39 million on Joelinton.
Newcastle signing Kieran Trippier could have huge impact
It would be a big surprise if Newcastle were prepared to pay that sort of price. Trippier has been a fantastic player over the last few years. And he helped Atletico win La Liga last season.
But he is also a player coming towards the end of his peak. He will turn 32 early on next season.
Having said that, Newcastle need to make a statement in the window. Some of their targets will surely be somewhat reluctant to make the move due to their league position.
Trippier seemingly wants to join if a fee is agreed. And that will perhaps send out a positive message to some of the other names they want.
Newcastle have the potential to power themselves away from the bottom three shortly after the January window closes. But they need a few statement signings to make that happen.
Trippier would certainly be one.
