Report shares how long Spurs expect Ben Davies to be out for

Tottenham Hotspur are set to be without Ben Davies for up to three weeks following the left-back’s withdrawal from the Wales squad, .

It has been a turbulent few days for Davies. He played 90 minutes in the Europa League on Thursday and came off the bench in the win at Aston Villa.

Unfortunately, the news then came that the left-back would not link up with the Wales squad. And assistant boss Robert Page described the calf problem as ‘significant’ (via Evening Standard).

Shortly after the announcement, Jose Mourinho revealed on Instagram that he had actually played in Sunday’s victory with the injury.

But it appears that the news is now a little more encouraging. that he is set to be sidelined for up to three weeks.

That would potentially rule the 27-year-old – who earns £60,000-a-week, – out of the trip to Newcastle. But he should be back in contention for the game against Manchester United the week after.

Davies’s form has seen him come in for criticism from some supporters. There is certainly a sense that Spurs are a much stronger side when Sergio Reguilon is available.

But having him as an understudy will be a big boost for Mourinho. And he is seemingly not going to need to wait too long before he is back.
