Report shares Arsenal’s Rob Holding’s stance on West Ham loan bid

But Mikel Arteta confirmed following the Gunners’ win at the weekend that he had told the 24-year-old that he was not going to be leaving the Emirates this summer.

Nevertheless, it appears that the Irons wanted to try their luck as David Moyes looks to sign a new centre-back.

that the Hammers offered to take Holding on loan. And it was noted that they were willing to pay £5 million as part of the deal.

However, Moyes looks set for disappointment with The Sun suggesting that Holding is ready to reject the Hammers.

TBR View: Holding bid always looked ambitious from West Ham

West Ham fans would have been forgiven for not holding their breath over their bid for Holding. He was excellent at Fulham at Craven Cottage, and Arteta clearly sees him in his plans.

However, the Irons must have felt that there was still a chance a deal could be done. In fairness, Arsenal have a large group of centre-backs either injured or coming back from a spell on the sidelines.

And Holding may soon find himself under pressure to keep his spot in the team.

That will have surely crossed the Englishman’s mind as West Ham’s bid emerged. Unfortunately for the Hammers, it seemingly did little to convince him that he would be better off spending this season at the London Stadium.
