Report: Sevilla could soon afford to sign Tottenham star Sergio Reguilon – all thanks to Chelsea

Sevilla’s interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has been widely reported recently, and the Spanish side could now finally be able to afford him – thanks to Chelsea.
Antonio Conte made up his mind at the end of last season that Reguilon, like Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, was not in his plans for the upcoming campaign.
The Spaniard is a fantastic defender, but he’s more of a left-back than a wing-back. That pushed him below Ryan Sessegnon in the pecking order last season, and with Ivan Perisic now in, Reguilon’s chances of playing have further diminished.
It looks like it’s only a matter of time before the full-back leaves Tottenham, and Sevilla seem like his likeliest destination.
Chelsea could be about to help Sevilla sign Tottenham star Reguilon
Just a few days ago, reports revealed that Sevilla are keen to sign Reguilon this summer, but it was claimed that the Spanish outfit couldn’t even afford a loan deal.
Now, that’s about to change, according to a report from .
Sevilla, who will be in the Champions League next season, are on the verge of selling Jules Kounde to Chelsea for big money. last night that a deal worth £55 million has been agreed between the two clubs, and it’s just a matter of time before it will be completed.
The report claims that one of Sevilla’s first operations after receiving the money from Chelsea for Kounde will be to make a move for Reguilon, who will surely be affordable then.
If this goes through as planned, Spurs will have Chelsea to thank for helping them get rid of a player that Conte just doesn’t want at the club anymore.

TBR View:
It really is a shame that Reguilon has no place at Tottenham anymore.
The 25-year-old, branded as a brilliant player, is very quick, good on the ball and is a decent crosser as well. His defending isn’t quite on the same level as his skills going forward, but nobody can deny that he’s a good left-back.
However, Conte just doesn’t want him in the squad anymore, and a move away this summer is the best thing for all parties involved.
Chelsea are expected to sign Kounde very soon, which should then open the door for Sevilla to make their move for Reguilon in the coming days.
