Report: Schalke sporting director has contacted Everton regarding second Jonjoe Kenny loan deal

German outfit Schalke are said to be hopeful of securing Everton right-back Jonkoe Kenny on loan for another season, according to reports in Germany.

The England under-21 star excelled on a loan spell in Gelsenkirchen last season and has been expected to battle Seamus Coleman for the starting right-back role at Goodison Park for some time now.

However, the Bundesliga side are hopeful of securing Kenny for a second season in a row. It is claimed that sporting director Jochen Schneider has already held initial talks over a potential deal.

The report suggests that Carlo Ancelotti may not be fully convinced that Kenny is good enough for Everton and a loan deal could be on the horizon.

Meanwhile, he would walk straight back into the Schalke starting XI, as they have not managed to replace him this summer.

Allowing Kenny to head back out on loan would certainly be a surprise considering his talent and after the Toffees decision not to sign Djibril Sidibe on a permanent basis.

last month that Carlo Ancelotti was planning on using Kenny this season. Sending him back on loan would represent a quick U-turn, especially with no immediate alternatives to back up Coleman.

However, should Everton find themselves going after another right-back this summer, you can bet that another loan move to Gelsenkirchen will become a very viable option for Kenny.
