Report: Ross Wilson pinpoints next Rangers signing in £2.6m star, same agent as Calvin Bassey

that Rangers are looking at Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna this summer. The Gers have been linked with Bacuna in the past, and are said to have been watching him for 12 months. Sporting director Ross Wilson wants Bacuna at Rangers.

Bacuna, 24, is now in his fourth season at Huddersfield following his £2.6million () move to the club in 2018. His versatility is most noticeable. Just last season he played on both flanks, in the middle of the park, at right-back and even up front. He is certainly a man of many positions.

That has impressed Rangers and Wilson – who worked at Huddersfield for a period. They want Bacuna having tracked his progress over the last year. With Bacuna out of contract in 2022, they could get him for a cut-price figure.

Bacuna perfect Rangers option from the bench, as Wilson eyes move

The Curacao international is certainly an excellent talent. In the Championship last season, he played 43 times and had a hand in nine goals but was just as defensively adept as he was going forward. While he might not start, Bacuna’s ability to play everywhere is ideal for the bench.

It gives Steven Gerrard options. Much like Joe Aribo, who can play out wide in a front three, anywhere in midfield or at left-back, it allows Gerrard’s system to be fluid. It allows the Rangers gaffer to change tactics or formations within a match, without making subs if Bacuna starts.

Depending on the price, he could be an excellent signing for Rangers.
