Report: Roma want to sign Jannik Vestergaard ahead of Spurs
According to reports in Italy, Roma are hoping to trump both Spurs and Juventus in the race to sign Southampton star, Jannik Vestergaard.
claim that Roma are preparing to make a move for Vestergaard. Roma’s interest comes as Juventus are also said to be keen on the Saints star, while Spurs hold a longer-term interest.

claimed just a few weeks ago that Spurs had registered an interested in Vestergaard. That report stated a fee of around £18m might be enough to do the trick. But with Jose Mourinho having left since that report, any deals for new players could be on hold.
Ryan Mason is currently in charge for Spurs. But barring a miracle, it’s unlikely he’ll be given the job on a full-time basis.
Vestergaard, meanwhile, has been impressing for Southampton under Ralph Hassenhuttl. The big Danish star is now 28, and could well see this summer as his big opportunity to earn a big contract with a big club.
TBR View: Vestergaard is class but Spurs might not be ideal right now
Spurs are going to struggle with this sort of thing for a few weeks and months, unless they get their managerial situation sorted.
Players won’t want to join not knowing who is in charge. The same applies for Vestergaard, especially when he has interest from the likes of Juve and Roma as well.
At £18m, Vestergaard would be a steal. But Spurs need to sort other things out first, meaning they could just miss out on this deal.
