Report: Roma want Hector Bellerin just months after his Arsenal exit

Hector Bellerin only left Arsenal in the summer, but it would appear that he could already be on the move once again in January, that Roma have made contact with Barcelona about a loan deal.

Bellerin left the Gunners a few months ago after it became apparent that he was no longer in Mikel Arteta’s plans. Obviously, he spent last season on loan with Real Betis.

His deal with Arsenal was terminated. And that allowed the 27-year-old to complete a move to Barca.

Unfortunately, Bellerin’s time with the Catalan giants is yet to properly get going. He suffered an injury early on in his spell at Camp Nou. And he has been an unused substitute for their last four La Liga fixtures.

, Roma have reached out to Barca to enquire whether a loan deal would be possible. Jose Mourinho’s men are looking to replace Rick Karsdorp.

The Giallorossi are very big fans of Bellerin. And the defender is interested in the possibility of heading to the Italian capital in the new year.

Arsenal made the right decision letting Bellerin go in the summer. Of course, it would have been better for the Gunners if they had been able to land a fee from Barcelona.

But Edu has shown that he is prepared to make ruthless decisions – even if they appear a little confusing initially.

They moved his wages off the bill. And they really have not suffered, with Ben White proving to be a revelation at right-back. Of course, Takehiro Tomiyasu was superb last season after Bellerin’s loan exit.

Italy may be a good move for Bellerin. A number of former Premier League players have gone on to thrive in Serie A, with Roma signing the likes of Chris Smalling and Tammy Abraham in recent years. They also took Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan from Arsenal last season.

It seems that they are already working on understanding whether Bellerin could join in January.
