Report: Roberto Martinez wants return to club football, Spurs a potential destination
Spurs could find themselves in pole position to land Roberto Martinez as their next manager, after reports suggested the Belgium boss wants a returnt to club football.
According to, Martinez has instructed his agent, Pini Zahavi, to find him a new club over the summer, with a view to returning to management after the Euros with Belgium.
Martinez, who has formerly managed Everton and Wigan over in the Premier League, is seen as someone Spurs could turn to. The club are looking for a new manager after parting ways with Jose Mourinho earlier this week.
The Spaniard has a phenomenal record with Belgium. He’s lost just four of his games in charge, racking up over 40 wins in the process.
Still just 47, Martinez is highly-regarded in world football and could well suit Spurs’ young squad.

Out of all the managers available, Martinez would suit Spurs given his success and way of playing. He likes to play free-flowing football but he’s also an astute tactician, and is adept at working with top players.
His work with Everton and Wigan was good in the main and he’s done brilliantly with Belgium as well.
A lot will depend on how patient Spurs want to be here. Any deal will have to wait until the summer at least. But Martinez could be worth that wait and be the perfect fit in north London.
